Why do I use Linux?

This website is made on a a Linux operative system. The HTML code is completely hand edited. It has been made using Linux/Mandrake version 8.2. The editor I have used is "Kate". It is tested in Konqueror, Mozilla, Netscape and Internet Explorer.

I started getting interested in Linux in 1998 when I got a job working on a HP UNIX system. I went to buy a book about UNIX and found some interesting books about a guy named Linus Torvalds. A very warm and idealistic story I thought. But what really made me think, was that it was an operative system based on UNIX, but it could be run on a PC. This was not possible with the UNIX system that I was already using. What was more, was that Linux was free, you could download it from the internet and it was made with the idea in mind that you could change it into how you wanted it to work (open source code). Well I am not a programmer, but I could see the idea of having acces to the scripts and being able to make corrections and changes yourself.
